THE CAMPAIGN

Solid State Studios wanted a series of videos to promote the newest content update for their game ‘Call of Duty – Warzone Mobile’, together in partnership with CraftsmanPlus we teamed up to create them.

Across the year’s campaign, there were 3 new videos made covering additional content made for each month. This is an in-depth look at one of those videos from November 2023.

THE MISSION

Magic Pie’s role for this months content update was to highlight the ‘Chivalrous Maiden’ Custom design pattern for the RPK machine gun. By combining dynamic 3D renders and intersplicing gameplay we aimed to demonstrate how well this new addition will fit into the existing game world.

STORYBOARDING

We began by using visual guides and style frames to map out the flow of the video, breaking it down into clear sections. We do this first to make sure we cover all key points of the campaign and to best convey our intentions for the film before we get our hands dirty animating all the individual parts.

ANIMATION

After our style frames are done we’re able to start on the animation, this is where we inject the flow and movement into the video. Hand animating each part of the gun dissasembling and creating smooth camera arcs to properly showcase the entire model.
